Beschreibung
RAMI AV-289 is a broadband blade antenna that covers 700–2700 MHz for transponder, cellular (4G, GSM, PCS, UMTS) and Wi-Fi applications. The FAA has authorized the 1030–1090 MHz transponder band to TSO-C74d; the other bands are non-TSO functions. It weighs up to 0.273 kg and has a female TNC connector; the SMA version is AV-289-SMA.
The antenna is vertically polarized with an omnidirectional pattern and 50 Ω nominal impedance; VSWR is 1.5:1 maximum in the transponder band and up to 2.8:1 across the other bands. It handles 100 W continuous and 1000 W peak, with a nominal gain of 4 dBi on a 4 ft ground plane. The polyarylamide shell sits on a 6061-T6 aluminium base, finished in Skydrol-resistant white polyurethane, and is rated to Mach 1 and 55,000 ft.
For transponder use RAMI specifies a flat area on the belly at least 18 in from other metal protrusions. The O-ring, mounting screws and drilling template are included; the 50 Ω coax with a male TNC connector is not. Installation in a certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the equipment the antenna serves.
