Garmin 010-10160-00 is the transponder monopole antenna kit that Garmin specifies in the installation manuals of the GTX 320/320A, GTX 327, GTX 328 and GTX 330 transponders. Garmin also lists it as the monopole antenna in GTS 800, GTS 825 and GTS 855 traffic system configurations with a GA 58 directional antenna, where it is configured as the bottom antenna.
The antenna is mounted vertically on the bottom of the fuselage, away from engines, propellers, antenna masts and gear or access doors, at least 3 ft from the ADF sense antenna and other communication antennas, 6 ft from the DME antenna and 3 ft from the transponder. A GTX 330 with diversity uses two kits, the second antenna on top of the fuselage within 7.6 m (25 ft) horizontally of the first. Installation on a certified aircraft needs approved data and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the transponder or traffic system model and the aircraft type.
