Beschreibung
Garmin 013-00378-00 is the radar altimeter antenna kit for the Garmin GRA 55 and GRA 5500. It contains a Sensor Systems S67-2002 flush-mounted antenna, which Garmin lists as an approved antenna for both radar altimeters, together with the S67-200222 conductive gasket and the MS24693-C272 mounting screws. A GRA 55 or GRA 5500 installation needs two antennas, so two kits are required per installation.
The S67-2002 covers 4200–4400 MHz with 9.5 dBi gain, linear polarization, 50 Ω impedance and VSWR of 1.5:1 maximum at 4275–4325 MHz (2.0:1 across the band). It handles 5 W average and 500 W peak, measures 3.65 × 3.50 in (92.7 × 88.9 mm) at 0.15 in height, weighs 3 oz (85 g) and has a female TNC connector. Sensor Systems lists FAA TSO-C87 and ratings of −55 to +85 °C and up to 45,000 ft.
Installation on a certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the radar altimeter model.
