Beschreibung
Garmin GA 36 (013-00244-00) is a white GPS/WAAS antenna with the ARINC 743 footprint, through-mounted on top of the fuselage and connected by a TNC connector. It weighs 0.21 kg. The receiver powers the antenna preamplifier over the coax cable. Garmin also builds the GA 36 in black (013-00244-01) and olive green (013-00244-02).
Garmin lists the GA 36 for the GTN Xi navigators, the GNX 375, the GTX 335 and GTX 345 transponders and the GTX 3000 ADS-B kits; in G3X systems it serves the GPS 20A only. The antenna needs at least 2 ft from VHF COM antennas, 9 to 12 in centre-to-centre from other antennas and 3 in from the windscreen, and a metal ground plane extending at least 7.5 in beyond its edge. It seals with an O-ring; washers, locknuts and the doubler (115-00846-00, or 115-00873-00 for pressurized aircraft) are not included.
Installation follows the aircraft type certificate or an approved modification and ends with a Certificate of Release to Service. The US AML STC SA02018SE-D covers mounting only and is not automatic EASA approval. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the GPS receiver it serves.
