Beschreibung
Trig TA14 is a broadband blade antenna for transponders and DME, certified to FAA TSO-C74c and TSO-C66c. It covers 960–1220 MHz with 50 Ω nominal impedance, a VSWR of 1.5:1 maximum, unity gain, vertical polarization and an omnidirectional pattern, and is rated for 2.5 kW peak. The antenna is 86 mm (3.4 in) high, weighs 90 g (0.2 lb) and has a female BNC connector.
Trig designed the TA14 for its own transponders and rates it for 350 mph and 50,000 ft, with a drag of 0.09 lb at 250 mph. Longer mounting studs suit both metal and composite airframes. The antenna comes in a single version and ships with an installation kit, the installation guide and an FAA 8130 release.
The antenna mounts on a flat surface, typically on the underside, at least 18 in (0.46 m) from other metal protrusions. Two mounting holes and a connector hole are drilled from the template, with the supplied rubber pad between antenna and skin; a composite airframe needs a metallic ground plane of at least 150 cm² behind the antenna. The coax (RG400 or similar) with its BNC plug is not included. A certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the transponder model.
