Beschreibung
RAMI AV-74(-1) is a broadband blade antenna for transponder, DME or ADS-B use in the 960–1220 MHz band, with longer mounting studs than the AV-74 for thicker mounting surfaces. Its two #8-32 threaded studs are 0.800 in (20.3 mm) long, against 0.425 in on the AV-74, and 1.750 in (44.5 mm) apart. The gloss white ASA plastic housing is 4.1 in (104 mm) long, 1.1 in (28 mm) wide and 3.4 in (86 mm) high, with a female BNC connector.
It is vertically polarized with an omnidirectional pattern, unity gain, 50 Ω impedance, VSWR of 1.5:1 maximum and 2.5 kW peak RF power handling. It weighs 0.2 lb (91 g) maximum and is rated to 350 mph (304 kt) and 50,000 ft. RAMI lists FAA TSO-C66c and TSO-C74c for this model.
A cellular neoprene mounting pad, mounting hardware and a drilling template are supplied. RAMI specifies a location at least 18 in (46 cm) from other metal protrusions on as flat a surface as possible, typically on the belly. The 50 Ω coax (RG-58/U or similar) with a male BNC connector is not included. Installation in a certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the transponder or DME model.
