Beschreibung
Comant CI 118-9 is a 75 MHz marker beacon antenna whose mounting configuration allows a drop-in replacement of the Bendix/King KA 26 marker beacon antenna. Apart from the mounting it is identical to the CI 118: a low-profile blade with a moulded radome and polyurethane enamel finish, 2.69 in (68 mm) high, 0.65 lb (0.29 kg) maximum, with a BNC connector.
The antenna is receive-only and DC grounded, with 50 Ω impedance, polarization parallel to the mounting plane and a partially downward radiation pattern. It is approved to FAA TSO-C35d, meets the RTCA DO-138 and DO-143 performance standards, is tested to RTCA DO-160D and resists Skydrol and rain erosion.
Installation on a certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the installed marker beacon antenna.
