Beschreibung
Comant CI 177 is an FM communication whip antenna for the 148–174 MHz public-service 2-metre band, with four-hole mounting and a female BNC connector. The radiating element is enclosed in a tapered glass-laminate fibreglass whip on a die-cast base; the antenna is 14.5 in (368 mm) high and weighs 0.5 lb (0.23 kg) maximum.
The antenna is vertically polarized with an omnidirectional pattern, 50 Ω impedance and a 50 W power rating; VSWR is 2.5:1 maximum across the band. It is approved to FAA TSO-C37 and TSO-C38, environmentally tested to RTCA DO-138 and rated to 30,000 ft, −55 to +55 °C and 450 kt TAS. The CI 177-3 is a separate three-hole version.
Installation on a certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the FM transceiver model.
