Beschreibung
Comant CI 211-1 is a wide-band VHF COM antenna for 118–154 MHz, built as a high-speed bent blade for high-performance twins and medium jets. Comant intends it for long-range business jets and turboprops operating in Europe, Asia and South America, where VHF communication uses a wider band. At 8.25 in (210 mm) high it avoids the drag of a taller blade; it weighs 1.6 lb (0.73 kg) maximum and has a female BNC connector.
The antenna is vertically polarized with an omnidirectional pattern, 50 Ω impedance, VSWR of 2.9:1 maximum and 30 W CW RF power. The body is high-density polyurethane with a polyurethane enamel finish. It is approved to FAA TSO-C37d and TSO-C38d, tested to RTCA DO-160D and rated to 50,000 ft and −55 to +85 °C. The CI 211-1-L with leading-edge protection is a separate order option.
Comant specifies the C21104 cork-neoprene gasket and refers to its factory drawings and FAA AC 43.13-2B for installation. Installation on a certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the model of the installed COM antenna.
