Beschreibung
Comant CI 401-220 is an active GPS antenna for 1575.42 MHz with a built-in preamplifier of 26.5–31.5 dB gain. It is a stand-alone antenna with a female TNC connector, matches the standard ARINC footprint found on many twins and business jets and weighs 6.2 oz (176 g).
The antenna is right-hand circularly polarized with a hemispherical pattern, 50 Ω output impedance and VSWR of 1.5:1 maximum. It runs on 4–24 V DC at 25–40 mA, has a noise figure of 3.8 dB and rejects Satcom signals at 1626.5 MHz by at least 40 dB. It is designed for panel-mount GPS receivers that expect 26.5 dB antenna gain and is certified to FAA TSO-C144 for GPS and GPS/WAAS Class Gamma 1 equipment. It is not compliant for Class Gamma 2 and 3 and not compatible with most portable GPS receivers. It meets RTCA DO-160D, including direct effects of lightning.
Installation on a certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the GPS receiver model.
