Comant CI 509 is a dual marker beacon coupler that feeds two marker beacon receivers from one marker beacon antenna at 75 MHz. It is mounted inside the aircraft and has BNC female connectors.
The coupler has 0.5 dB maximum insertion loss, 1.5:1 maximum VSWR and 50 Ω impedance. The die-cast aluminium housing is 0.88 in (22 mm) high and weighs 0.20 lb (91 g) maximum. The coupler is listed under FAA TSO-C35d. Installation on a certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the installed marker beacon receivers.
