Comant CI 275-5 is a wide-band UHF radiotelephone antenna for 406–512 MHz, designed for high-performance aircraft. The low-profile blade in a low-drag moulded Lexan body has a white polyurethane enamel finish, is 3.5 in (89 mm) high, weighs 0.5 lb (0.23 kg) maximum and has an N connector.
The antenna is vertically polarized, with a radiation pattern equivalent to a quarter-wave stub, 50 Ω impedance, VSWR of 2.0:1 maximum and an RF rating of 50 W average. It is rated to 50,000 ft, −55 to +70 °C and 600 kt TAS at 25,000 ft. The standard CI 275 has a BNC connector and the CI 275-2 a TNC connector.
Installation on a certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type, the UHF radio and the connector type.
