Beschreibung
Trig TA70 (P/N 01740-00) is an active external GPS antenna certified to TSO-C190 for the Trig TN70 and TN72 GPS position sources. It receives 1575.42 MHz ±3 MHz with SBAS (EGNOS, WAAS, MSAS, GAGAN), amplifies the signal by 26.5–30.5 dB and takes 4.5–14.4 V DC, 40 mA typical, through the coaxial cable from a receiver that supplies DC on its antenna connector.
The antenna has a TNC female connector, 50 Ω impedance and a VSWR of 1.5:1 maximum. It weighs 0.31 lb (141 g) and measures 40 × 73 × 120 mm. A rubber gasket covers existing antenna holes and seals the antenna against weather on a retrofit. The package holds the installation guide, a mounting template and the fixing hardware; the TNC plug is not included.
The antenna mounts on top of the aircraft with four screws and one connector hole, with a clear view of the sky; a composite airframe needs no additional ground plane. Trig lists the TA70 in the equipment list of its FAA ADS-B STCs, which is not an EASA approval. A certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service after installation. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the GPS position source.
