Beschreibung
RAMI AV-7F is a VHF COM antenna for ground vehicles, pre-tuned to the aircraft VHF COM band of 118–137 MHz. The set consists of the AV-7-1A antenna, a tapered 17-7PH stainless steel whip with spring mount, and the AV-7-3F fixed NMO mount base with 17 ft (5.2 m) of RG-58A/U cable and a male BNC connector supplied unattached. As supplied, the antenna is about 45 in (1143 mm) high.
It is vertically polarized with an omnidirectional pattern, 50 Ω nominal impedance, VSWR of 1.5:1 maximum at resonance and 150 W RF power capacity. All exposed fittings are chrome-plated brass or stainless steel. The version with a magnetic base, 12 ft of cable and an attached BNC connector is the AV-7M.
The fixed base mounts in a 7/8 in (22 mm) hole and is secured with an O-ring and a threaded mount ring. RAMI names the centre of the vehicle roof for best performance; a fender or trunk lid gives satisfactory performance. The cable is cut to length before the BNC connector is fitted.
