Beschreibung
Comant CI 121 is a VHF COM whip antenna for 118–137 MHz with a tapered glass-laminate whip and a die-cast aluminium base, matching the standard mounting and appearance of many Cessna communication antennas. It is 18.50 in (470 mm) high, weighs 0.5 lb (0.23 kg) maximum and has a female BNC connector; the standard finish is white polyurethane enamel.
The antenna is vertically polarized with an omnidirectional pattern, 50 Ω impedance, VSWR of 2.5:1 maximum and a 50 W power rating. It is approved to FAA TSO-C37d and TSO-C38d, tested to RTCA DO-160D and meets RTCA DO-186A. It is rated to 50,000 ft, −55 to +85 °C and 250 kt TAS. Comant specifies the C12607-3 cork-neoprene gasket. RAMI lists its AV-10 as a direct replacement for the CI 121.
Installation on a certified aircraft needs an approved modification and a Certificate of Release to Service. Fit depends on the aircraft type and the model of the installed COM antenna.
